Rakkan Consignment and Services Management System (楽管 委託管理システム)
The project aimed to enhance a legacy web application for Acreeg Co. Ltd.'s new client by implementing custom features and generating specialized reports. The focus was on modernizing key areas such as Bidding, Contact, and Quality Inspection management to better align with the client's business processes and improve overall efficiency. The project required careful adaptation of existing systems to integrate new functionalities while maintaining stability and performance.
Challenge: The project was managed by a traditional Japanese company adhering to strict securities rules. PCs for outsourced employees were configured to automatically restore Windows to its default state upon restart, making it difficult to maintain consistent development environments. Additionally, the company had never used version control before, relying on a cumbersome process of versioning source code by zipping projects, naming them by date, and uploading them to an internal server.
Solution: Spent several days explaining and negotiating the adoption of Git for version control. After persistent efforts, the company agreed to implement Git, leading to a more efficient and organized workflow. The outsourced team quickly adapted to the new system, which not only streamlined the versioning process but also significantly reduced debugging time and increased overall productivity.
